Mike Chambers reports: New Standalone, External and Debug Players We have released new standalone, external and debug Flash players. This brings their versions up to 6,0,40,0 in line with the current Flash Player. You can download the new players here (non-English versions are here).

Make sure that you download these new players to test your flash applications for. I would strongly encourage though that you don’t forget about the older v6 players. Early adapters might not be aware of player 6.0.40 (which has lots of improved things compared to earlier v6 players) and this might cause your application to break or perform less in these older players. So also test your movies in older players (the readme file tells you ho to maintain those players) and if your application only supports 6.0.40 (or more recent) make sure that you redirect older players to a page/interface that informs the user on this issue.
