Video support has improved a whole lot in Flash MX

Video support has improved a whole lot in Flash MX 2004 (both the Professional autoring environment, as well as the Player 7). Forest Key has written a great whitepaper on Flash and video. I’d encourage everyone to read it, it gives you a lot of insight into the technology!

It covers a technical overview of standards (different technologies in Europe and the States, differences between webvideo and tv-video), a very detailed description of the Flash Video Exporter Plug-in options, how it works from within third-party video editing software and a FAQ.

It’s one of the many articles on MX 2004 that have been published on the DevNet Center last night. There’s so much new content that you need a few days to catch up!
